Math enrichment letter to "target" students

Dear _________,

Based on observation and assessment of _________, I have determined to offer a variety of math extension and enrichment activities to further enhance their already strong skills. ________ has demonstrated math performance that exceeds standard in several areas and I will be offering a variety of opportunities to continue to build upon those strengths.

Enrichment and extension activities will consist of a variety of experiences and projects that integrate several disciplines, offer opportunities for problem solving, extend the depth of thought surrounding a math concept, and invite further exploration.

Some of these activities will take place in peer groups and some will be worked upon individually. Collaborative work will stimulate development of project management skills, communication skills, and resilient thinking. Individual work will be designed to develop independence with challenges and encourage individual interests.

I am very proud of the work ________ has done and excited to see continued engagement and growth in math as the year progresses.
